To mark the celebration of World Teachers’ Day, UNESCO invited VVOB to share its best practices in teacher and school leadership development for early education. Marie-Pierre Ngoma, Education Advisor for VVOB in Zimbabwe, represented our organisation at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris during its World Teacher’s Day roundtable, which was held on October 5th.

She made a presentation about enhancing the capacities of school leaders to improve quality inclusive early education. Among others, Mrs Ngoma presented VVOB’s framework with key dimensions of successful school leadership. She also highlighted suggestions from teachers, teacher educators and student teachers for inclusive and equitable quality education.

As quality early education is key in providing children with equal opportunities for their further education and future success, early education has been identified as one of the flagship operation areas of VVOB. We implement capacity development programmes on early education in Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe in partnership and close collaboration with the ministries of education and their structures for teacher and school leadership development.
