VVOB is looking for 18 national experts to form a group of 6 experts in each of the following categories: Emergent literacy, School leadership and Research. The groups will work with VVOB to develop materials, train target groups and engage with professional development in order to achieve programme goals.

Background

VVOB – education for development is a Belgian non-profit development organisation working towards inclusive quality education in nine countries in Africa, Asia and South America. Through capacity development of ministries of education, we strengthen the professional development of teachers and school leaders in a sustainable way.

Objectives for National Expert Group

VVOB will form national expert groups comprised of 6 people for each results area. Each area has a different area of expertise and varying responsibilities.

  • National Expert Group on Emergent Literacy (Result 1)

Result 1: D/BOET set up capacity-development for teachers to create language rich learning environment (LRLE) applied to emergent literacy (EL) with attention for wellbeing and involvement.

  • National Expert Group on School Leadership (SL) (Result 2)

Result 2: DOET/BOET provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to school leaders to create an enabling environment for collaborative and reflective learning, especially for teachers working in satellite classes, within the existing policy.

  • National Expert Group on Research relating to language development (Result 3)

Results 3: The national expert group will advocate for language rich learning environments (LRLE) as an effective approach to support children’s readiness for learning towards MOET and other stakeholders, based on empirical data collected throughout the programme.

Required Experience And Qualifications

The selected experts need to show proven qualifications and experience in the areas of ECE, emergent literacy and language rich learning environment, as well as multilingual education focused on ethnic minority children. Details of the requirement experience and qualifications are clearly indicated in the TOR.
