On 9 September 2011, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in Vinh Phuc organized the International Symposium ''Higher Education: Today and Tomorrow''. Researchers and practitioners from Vietnam, the United States, Belgium, Thailand, China, Russia, Taiwan and South Africa presented some of their findings and experiences related to the themes of the symposium: higher education in Vietnam, trends in higher education globally, enhancing quality of training and effectiveness of management, staff development in higher education, innovation of teaching methods in higher education and, education for sustainable development.

VVOB was invited to contribute and made use of this excellent opportunity to highlight the effort of some of the partner institutes: papers were presented by Nguyen Ngoc Anh from TTC Quang Ninh, Nguyen Thi Huong TTC Thai Nguyen and Bui Thi Than Thuy from the Pham Van Dong University in Quang Ngai. There were also 2 contributions by VVOB personnel (see below Thy and Hans).

The following papers (links can be found below) were contributed to the symposium by VVOB and members of the VVOB supported research group:

Nguyen Ngoc Anh (Teacher Training College Quang Ninh): Collaborative learning: Teachers learn how to use ICT in teaching practice.

Nong Khanh Bang & Le Thi Thu Huong (Teacher Training College Thai Nguyen): ICT in management in higher education: Using the webpage to support teaching and learning activities and management work in Thai Nguyen TTI.

Tran Nu Mai Thy (VVOB): Evaluating student learning in eLearning environment.

Hans Lambrecht (VVOB): Teaching methods as a pathway to sustainable development. The use of active teaching and learning methods in the pilot phase of Teaching and Learning for a Sustainable Future in Vietnam.
