On July 29th, 2011, VVOB Vietnam and the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which formalises the partnership of the two organizations. Our mutual interest is to improve the capacity of mothers with children under 16 years old on parenting skills related to child rearing and education in the areas of the 5 provinces of Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai (the overlap between National scheme No.704 to build capacity for 5 millions mothers on child education and rearing and VVOB Vietnam Education Programme)

The partnership will focus on:

  • Cooperation to provide ToT trainings for the core trainers in the 5 above mentioned provinces in order to enhance the communication activities at grassroots levels;
  • Improvement of parenting skills related to adolescent education including supporting active learning at home and strengthening the links between school and wider community;
  • Development of training and communication materials;
  • Development of M&E tools and planning;
  • Sharing and advocating of best practices and achievements of the collaboration activities.

The MoU is valid for the remaining programme period (until end 2013).
