Effectiveness and efficiency of career guidance education delivered in schools of general education depends to a large extent on school managers. The leaders play a very important role in steering and supporting the implementation of the career guidance vision. School leaders need to provide direct support to form teachers and career guidance teachers in various ways, including time and resources.
In order to support the effective applycation of the material on “Career Guidance Management for Secondary Education”, VVOB Vietnam coorporated with Nghe An and Quang Nam DOET to organise a 3-day training workshop (19 – 21 October 2012) for core trainers in each province.
Twenty-eight core trainers - managers from DOETs, BOETs, Secondary Education Schools and CCOs - participated in the 3-day workshop. The skills of the facilitators and the enthusiasm of the participantsresulted in a successful workshop. From our observations, from the results of the assisgments and from the self evaluation of the participants, we conclude that after 3 day TOT workshop, the participants:
- Had a deep understanding of and were able to apply Career Guidance theories/models in career guidance management
- Understood the content of the material and were able to multiply training to their colleagues
