In the first week of October 2010, educational managers of the 5 TTIs travelled to North and Central Vietnam to learn and share on the education innovation processes taking place in two partner TTIs. During a plenary meeting Quang Ninh TTI and Quang Nam TTI presented their education innovation plan for 2011-2012, after which they guided us around their campus. Participants were eager to learn more about the practice school in Quang Ninh TTI and were very much impressed with the management of the Key Learning Facilities in Quang Nam TTI. In each of the organizing institutes, participants of the study tour also observed two lessons where educators applied activating teaching methodologies like learning station, and integrated ICT in their teaching practice. Finally we had the chance to meet members of the ICT and methodology core group of each TTI to discuss the implementation of the respective training programmes and to discuss some lessons learned.
This activity was also a great opportunity for the educational managers of the different institutes to enjoy the scenery in two UNESCO world heritage sites: the Halong Bay area in Quang Ninh and the Cham temples in Quang Nam. Moreover it was a moment to get to know each other over a plate of local delicacies. All participants look forward to a similar event in the second phase of the education programme.
